What merchants are asking for
Recent Shopify Community threads show where Shopify's own bundles fall short. In September a merchant posted that Shopify Bundles will silently sell at the wrong price, because a fixed bundle's price doesn't follow changes to its components. In August another asked for a bundling app that ties bundle stock to the main inventory, applies bundles automatically in the cart and keeps orders editable.
The five bundle types
- Quantity breaks. Each tier has its own minimum and discount: a percentage, an amount off or a set price. You can mark one tier "Most popular", show the per-item price, and attach a free gift to any tier.
- Build your own box. You set the smallest and largest box, fill it from products or whole collections, and the widget shows what the next tier unlocks. A box can run on its own page without a Shopify product.
- Mix and match across a set of products.
- BOGO and free gifts.
- Fixed sets of chosen products.
A "Help me choose" step asks two questions and suggests a type. "Bundle ideas" suggests products customers often buy together and turns them into a bundle in one click.
How it works in the cart
Bundles are put together from real variants when they're added to the cart, so inventory is tracked per component and there's no separate bundle product to keep in sync. Each order line gets "Part of" and "Tier" properties, so whoever packs the order can see which offer an item belongs to.
Discounts are enforced at checkout by Shopify Functions, a discount function plus a cart transform, and apply automatically. If another automatic discount gets in the way, an optional code mode creates and applies a discount code instead.
Targeting and theme
- Show a bundle on one product or variant, a collection, a tag, or every product page, with exclusions.
- Show it to everyone, to B2B buyers only, or to everyone except B2B buyers.
- Include or exclude markets and countries, and set start and end dates.
It installs as an app embed with theme app blocks, so no theme files are edited. The widget matches your theme's colours by default and inherits its fonts. The docs list Horizon, Dawn and Maestrooo's Stretch, Impact and Prestige as themes tested for cart events.
Results
A dashboard shows revenue, orders and add-to-carts over 7, 30 or 90 days, compared with the previous period. The listing adds per-bundle add-to-cart clicks, orders, revenue and units sold. Shopify Sidekick can rank bundles and compare periods, but it can't edit them.
Limits
- Subscription-only products can't go in a bundle. Products sold both ways join as one-time purchases.
- Gift cards can't be bundled or given free, because Shopify can't discount them.
- Draft products are blocked. Unlisted products can be sold as bundle-only items.

Bundle sales means the value of orders that include a bundle. The App Store lists the free plan with BOGO gifts, quantity breaks and guided setup, and all five bundle types from $12.99. The product page lists 25 active bundles at $12.99, 100 at $24.99 and unlimited at $49.99. You get emails at 80% and 95% of your allowance. At 100%, bundle discounts pause until you upgrade or, on a paid plan, the next month starts.
TB Bundles or Shopify Bundles?
Shopify's free Shopify Bundles app works on every plan and on POS, and it's enough for a fixed set or a multipack. According to Shopify's help pages it doesn't support mix and match, a bundle's price doesn't update when a component's price changes, and it can't be used with subscriptions.
