Order editing apps charge in four different ways: per edit, by monthly order volume, by your Shopify plan, or a flat fee. The same store can pay $49 or $399 a month depending on which one it picks. We read the pricing on each app's Shopify App Store listing on October 20, 2026 and worked out what each would cost at three store sizes. Smart Checkout Widgets is one of the options, so we've been careful to show where others are cheaper or do more.

What each would cost you
To compare per-edit and per-order pricing, you need a guess at how many orders get edited. There's no reliable public figure, so the table below assumes 5% of orders get a customer edit. That's 25 edits at 500 orders, 100 at 2,000 and 500 at 10,000. Use your own support numbers if you have them. Upsell fees aren't included.
| App | 500 orders | 2,000 orders | 10,000 orders |
|---|---|---|---|
| OrderEditing.com | $99 | $99 | $399 |
| Revize | $49 | $49 | $49 |
| Cleverific | $59 | $59 | $119 plus overage, or $359 |
| AE | $39 | $99 | $179 |
| ClickPost | $0 | $49 | $129 |
| Orderify | $4.99 to $99.99, depending on your Shopify plan | ||
| Smart Checkout Widgets Pro | $99 | $99 | $99 |
Editify and LEO are left out because their listings don't state how many edits the paid plans include.
Which pricing model suits which store
- Per-edit pricing suits small stores with few edits. It gets expensive in a busy month, and edits spike around Black Friday.
- Pricing by order volume is predictable month to month, but a strong season can move you into the next tier.
- Pricing by Shopify plan is cheap on Basic and climbs as you move up Shopify's plans, whatever your volume.
- A flat price costs the same in your quietest and busiest months. Check what the flat price includes.
What the dedicated apps do that we don't
These apps don't all do the same job. The dedicated apps go further than Smart Checkout Widgets in several ways:
- Adding items and paying the difference: Revize, Cleverific, AE, ClickPost and LEO list adding or swapping products. Smart Checkout Widgets only swaps to a same-price variant of the same product, and doesn't add items yet.
- Changing the shipping method: OrderEditing.com, AE and Editify list it. Smart Checkout Widgets doesn't.
- Upsells in the edit flow: most of the dedicated apps sell inside the edit, some with a fee per conversion.
- Address validation: a paid add-on at OrderEditing.com and AE.
Smart Checkout Widgets covers the common requests: address fixes within the same country and state or province, same-price size and colour swaps, lower quantities, cancellations with restock, and removal requests on discounted orders. It adds a fulfillment hold for the edit window. Its $99 also covers everything else in the app: payment and shipping rules, Thank you page blocks, the post-purchase survey, and gifts and upsells in checkout on Plus.
Which to pick
- If you have few orders and few edits, a free plan from Revize, ClickPost or LEO may be enough.
- If you want edits to sell, with add-ons and upsells, look at a dedicated app with upsells such as Revize Pro, AE or Cleverific.
- At high volume, if you want enterprise case studies and integrations, look at OrderEditing.com.
- If you'd pay for checkout customization anyway and mostly need fewer "please change my order" emails, Smart Checkout Widgets Pro puts both in one $99 plan.
Whichever you choose, check what it does with orders that used a discount or a free gift. Removing an item from those can refund the wrong amount, and it's worth asking the developer before you install. Shopify's own cancellation requests are free, but they only cover cancelling and removing items, and you approve each one.
