If you give gifts or run upsells in checkout, the obvious question is whether they're doing anything. The Results page in Smart Checkout Widgets answers that from your own orders. It's included on every plan.

What it shows

Pick the last 7, 30 or 90 days. The page then shows:

  • Totals for the period: orders, revenue and average order value.
  • Gifts: how many orders had a gift, how many gifts went out, what they were worth, and the average value of orders with a gift next to orders without one.
  • Upsells: how many orders included an upsell, how many upsell items sold, and the revenue they brought in.
  • Block views: how often each kind of widget was shown in checkout and on the Thank you and Order status pages.

Gift and upsell lines are marked when the app adds them, so Results counts them from the order itself.

Reading the gift comparison honestly

Orders with a gift are usually bigger than orders without one. Part of that is the gift doing its job, but part of it is built in: if a gift unlocks at $75, every gift order is at least $75. The page says this next to the numbers. The comparison tells you gift orders are healthy; it can't prove how much extra the gift caused. For that you'd need to run the same period with and without the gift, or split traffic.

What's counted, and what isn't yet

  • Results start from the first order the app records after install, so a new install shows an empty page until orders come in.
  • Upsell numbers count items added with the Upsell block in checkout. Purchases that start from an upsell link on the Thank you page are not counted yet.
  • Everything comes from your own orders. Nothing is estimated or modelled.

Where to find it

Open Smart Checkout Widgets in your Shopify admin and choose Results in the app menu. There's nothing to set up.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Results page included on every plan?

Yes. It is part of every Smart Checkout Widgets plan, including the free Starter plan.

Does it prove my gifts raised average order value?

No. It compares orders with and without a gift, and gift orders are often bigger partly because the gift needs a minimum spend. To measure the gift's own effect, compare periods with and without it.

Why is my Results page empty?

Results start from the first order the app records after install. Once orders come in, the page fills in.

Are Thank you page upsells counted?

Not yet. Upsell numbers count items added with the Upsell block in checkout.
